Cytidine-5′-triphosphate disodium salt is a cation-permeable ligand gated ion channel (P2X purinergic receptor) agonist. It is also used as an organic intermediate, pharmaceutical intermediate, food additive and flavoring agent. Soluble in water. Insoluble in ethanol, chloroform and ether.
